OUR DENTAL SERVICES

Zoom!® Whitening
Featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover, Zoom! is a quick and painless whitening process that lightens tooth discoloration. Working on the enamel and dentin, the Zoom! whitening procedure clocks in at under an hour, with as little as 45 minutes of bleaching.

Though purely cosmetic, the Zoom! whitening procedure improves more than your teeth. A brighter smile can boost confidence and give you a more youthful appearance.

Implants
Dental implants are artificial roots used to hold replacement teeth. A high-tech alternative to traditional bridge-work, implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support, preventing additional strain and wear.

For people who have lost teeth due to disease or injury, implants provide natural-looking and feeling substitutes that, with proper maintenance, can last a lifetime.

Veneers
Dental veneers are custom-designed shells of tooth-like material placed over existing teeth to cover a variety of dental problems. One of the most comprehensive cosmetic dentistry solutions, veneers are the answer for people with worn enamel, chips, discoloration, or uneven teeth.

Using the latest translucent ceramic, modern dental veneers provide a more natural look while creating a brighter, more shapely smile.

Endodontics (Root Canals)
When the soft tissue inside a tooth’s root canal becomes inflamed or infected, endodontics become necessary to preserve comfort and overall oral health. The affected soft tissue is removed, after which the canal is cleaned, shaped, and sealed. A crown or alternative restoration completes the process, leaving the recipient with a pain-free and normally functioning tooth.

If you are suffering prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold, tenderness when eating, tooth discoloration, or swelling, endodontics may be necessary. However, symptoms do not always present themselves, and preventative dental care is the best way to avoid needing endodontics.

Mouth Cancer Screening
Screenings are just one part of Dr. Coleman’s comprehensive examinations, and are the best prevention for cancer.

Easing Dental Anxiety
If you find dental visits unnerving, don’t worry, we’re not offended. Many people experience anxiety during medical visits, and we have several options to quell your apprehension, such as sedation dentistry, laughing gas, and the wonderful distraction of television.

Inlays/Onlays
The interim step between a filling and a crown, inlays/onlays replace the portion of a tooth while leaving as much of the natural tooth structure intact as possible. This restores the strength to the tooth without the need for a crown.

Crowns
Made from either ceramic or metal, crowns cup over the part of a tooth that’s above the gum-line, restoring its normal strength, size, and shape. Many conditions call for crowns, including supporting or protecting a weak tooth, covering a dental implant, and concealing discolored or poorly shaped teeth.

Crowns (also called caps) are a relatively simple health-improving procedure that has the added benefit of cosmetic enhancement, leaving you with beautiful pain-free teeth.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction
Wisdom teeth can function as an extra set of molars when they are healthy and properly positioned. Quite often however, problems develop that necessitate their removal. If they become impacted—that is, if they are misaligned—wisdom teeth can cause pain, swelling, jaw stiffness, and other maladies.

An often misunderstood procedure, wisdom tooth removal in the proper hands (guess who) can be simple, relatively painless, and have limited discomfort or impact to your daily life.

Periodontal Services
Periodontal disease is an infection that attacks just below the gum line and causes the supporting tissues to break down. There are two major stages: gingivitis, the milder, reversible form; and periodontitis, a more serious and destructive form. While there are many warning signs, it is possible to display no symptoms and still have periodontal disease.

Treatment depends on severity, but the latest advancement, lasers, allows for precise sterilization with minimal chance of infection or bleeding. However, with good oral hygiene and regular dental checkups you can avoid periodontal disease entirely.

Dentures
There are two basic types of dentures, partial and complete. Complete dentures are used when all of a patient’s teeth are removed (either directly after or once the tissue has fully healed), while partial dentures attach to existing teeth with a metal framework or precision attachments.

No matter how teeth are lost, or to what extent, complete and partial dentures can replace your smile and restore your youthful appearance. They can also help you regain the normal eating and speaking habits, that many people take for granted.

Mouth Guards
Protect your children and yourself from tooth damage and concussions with custom mouth guards. Properly fitted, mouth guards can offer protection and comfort without interfering with speaking or breathing.

Decay Detection
At Newpark, a preventative oral health care plan is as essential to reducing tooth decay as regular checkups. Dr. Coleman and the rest of the Newpark staff are happy to provide important tips for detecting, treating, and ultimately reducing tooth decay.
